nice work.

Nice vibes, I really like it when it breaks down around 1:20 but I have to agree I wish there was a kick or a snare to carry the rhythm. Although I was able to just chill through it up til 4:30....then I got a little bored. nice outro though from 6:00 - 7:00

I may have to dl it and reverse it to hear the original. lol

nightsurfermusic responds:

If you want to you can re-reverse it. Doesn't matter to me. :D

sorry this aint mudstep

Still like what you were going for, especially those sweeps that sound like a downshifting f-zero ship.
I'm sure you were tryin to start your own branch but mudstep is already takin IMO. It's not far off from what your doing.
But yea mud step murky watery dubstep is becoming the new brostep round SF :( but let me introduce you to Requake who is fuckin poseidon when it comes to it.

i talked to a friend and he was like "mudstep wtf, no on calls it mudstep if anything its water-step" and i was like its the practically the same thing, and he was like nah. And so we started bickering over dumb names for genres that really dont exist lol.
Didn't mean to crash your parade, do your thing man. mudsteps all you, but i hope you liked that requake link because i've been liking those tracks as of late.

Also delete my comment if you wish, I was trying but NG is so weird about deleting
posts and stuff.

lol, don't worry about it. you can't delete your reviews. the only two things that could happen would be is that it would disappear if enough people voted it useless or if you had a site administrator remove it. the links were awesome though, i loved requake. me and spikrodd were joking about making a "plop bass" a while back and requake was the exact sound I was going for. I linked spikrodd to that for lols :)

Glitch +1

the flow was much smoother.
also mac dre reference.

glitchs2d responds:

Haha im glad someone got the Mac Dre reference thanks for the review

this is dope

what kinda synth did you use?
I really liked those little arps dound that started at :51
as well as just about every other sound in this, the croaking that the bass drops into is crisp. and then going into to that really neony synth is awesome.

mjattie responds:

hello methreee :P thanks for the review.

I use reason 5 and all synths are from the synthesizer "thor" (only in reason). You can see the .rsn file (reason song file) if you want. ;) (some are with some sort of distortion/digital/etc. effects and some have loads of reverb)

thanks for the 10 :)

Very nice

One of the best drops ever. But then it went house and I didn't like the house part. However the ethnic part was awesome. So many good parts actually, it's like I just listened to a trailer of your album. It feels like you try to pull my emotions in and out and it's like a roller coaster because it changes emotions so much, which is weird and makes me lose the emotion i was starting to feel. I know the newgrounds saying is "too repetitive," but I think you managed to have too many parts for one short song, too ADD'd out, which I'm starting to notice the more newgrounders doing a lot actually.
Just saying you got a lot of good ideas for this track, but I didn't like its flow. Like it was a straight forward flow and never went back to the original, being the dubstep part. And personally I like repetitiveness, helps me remember what I just listened to. Maybe I just like dubstep too much so I wanted it all to be dubstep. In all, good luck and keep it up it's not bad. my favorite part is actually the knocking bass that starts at 1:23.

The string melody that starts at :52 was a little too loud too IMO, I thought the strings had a perfect flow to them without the faster paced stings, so i would have made the fast strings less noticable. Sorry for the completely opinionated post, like you said it's a gang bang of genres. I guess I wasn't ready for a gang bang but i did listen to your track like 7 times in a row.

Breed responds:

Well it goes a bit too fast to be house but I can connect with what your saying. I knew the song wasn't fluid as a whole...but I always feel the need to try something new in every track, and this time it was genre combos. The higher dynamics in the strings are purposeful as well--the fast part of the strings are a high tension point, one of three main ones, and it goes back down to lead into the dubstep drop(2nd high tension point). As for repetition it has the same chordal progression, key, and even repeated arpeggios and motifs-its the timbres that are throwing you off from that though which I understand.

Never the less, many thanks for a detailed review--I understand and agree with everything you said.

Cheers!

Wow

was not expecting this. Really digging all the glitch, although at 1:06 the drop back into the ambient stuff felt lacking because you already started the breakcore....i dont know. it was interesting for sure, I would have just done it differently, like some hats to keep it goin a little. But now I see that it drops out at 1:46 again.....and again I just dont like that, but to each their own. And my opinion shouldn't hold much weight as i dont listen to breakcore...although i can enjoy it, I like glitch hop n dnb n stuff, and your drums were amazing...

poopr1221 responds:

Yo! Thanks for the review.

You mentioned odd drops and shit, and I understand. Luckily, I am extending this song to probably around 7 minutes (already at 5), so I'll most likely change the ending to smoothly transition into what I'm currently adding. Thanks for the advice. PEOPLE! REVIEWS LIKE THIS ARE GOOD! TELL ME WHAT'S GOOD, AND WHAT'S BAD! CAN'T FIX IT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT'S BROKEN!

Once again, thanks.

hahah

this was awesome, super funky.

Step responds:

Lol xD.

Thanks!

You are awesome..

I love your samples, I still got a track in the works using both your printer and cardboard samples.

Rig responds:

Awesome, let me know when it's done :D
